Millie is currently on maternity leave.
Millie is a fully qualified acupuncturist in both traditional Chinese medicine and Five Element styles, and has a BSc(Hons) in acupuncture obtained from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. She is particularly interested in how the mind and emotions can reflect in physical symptoms especially where people have experienced trauma.
Careful questions about the patient's condition, including diet and lifestyle are used along side taking of the pulse and observation the tongue to make a diagnosis. This helps Millie to create a full picture of the patient’s health and to find the root of disharmony.
Acupuncture and other modalities such as moxabustion, gua sha and cupping can bring about positive change in emotional, mental and physical health. Millie is passionate about helping people feel the best that they can whether is it relieving pain, improving digestive complaints, aiding better sleep or simply assisting the patient on their path to a greater sense of well being.
She is also able to offer lifestyle and dietary advice where appropriate to support her patients in making small changes to promote their best health.
Please contact Millie with any specific questions, to book in for an appointment or to arrange a free 15-minute consultation by phone or in person.
Millie is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
You might recognise Millie, as she is Amy’s sister. She loves being on Dartmoor or at the beach, traveling to warmer climes and spending time with her ever expanding family.
About Acupuncture.
Traditional acupuncture is an ancient Chinese system of healing which may help a person to achieve a more balanced physical and emotional state. Acupuncture involves the insertion of single use, fine needles into different points on the body. The needles, in a completely natural way, instruct the body to initiate it’s own healing. Some people choose to have acupuncture for specific symptoms or conditions and others have treatment to maintain good health or to improve their general sense of well being.
A great strength of acupuncture treatment is that it is tailored for each individual patient and is aimed to treat the whole person, not only the illness. Chinese medicine looks at the combined effects of lifestyle, diet, work, environment and internal, physical and emotional factors. All symptoms are seen in relation to each other and this approach means that acupuncture can be used to treat a range of conditions.
An integrated style of traditional Chinese medicine and Five Element acupuncture is used along side moxabustion, cupping, gua sha and acupressure to enable support to both physical and emotional health.
Acupuncture can help a wide range of conditions such as pain relief, digestive disorders, sleep problems, depression and menstrual conditions. Please seewww.acupuncture.org.uk for more information about what acupuncture can treat or feel free to contact Millie with any specific questions. Free 15-minute initial consultations are available to discuss whether acupuncture could benefit you.
1.5 hour for first appointment - £45
1 hour for follow up appointment - £40
Millie can be available at Key Cottage on Thursdays.
