Osteopathic treatment is safe and gentle. Our special interest is in working with Involuntary motion in the body, often known as Cranial Osteopathy. Contrary to what the name implies, Cranial Osteopaths do not work solely on the head, but may use gentle release techniques wherever appropriate. Whilst this type of practice is talked about for its perceived benefits to babies and children, our patients of all ages have found it beneficial. We both very much enjoy working with family members of all generations.
Our aim as Osteopaths is to try to appreciate the whole body pattern present in each individual, including adaptations to accidents, injuries, work strains and past or ongoing psycho-emotional stresses. We then seek to discern where the body is trying to self correct and to support this process using simple Osteopathic principles. When appropriate we are happy to give advice on specific exercises, management strategies or lifestyle changes that maybe helpful. Our underlying intent is to help people live the lives they want to as fully as possible and we try never to lecture! We do not exclude any type of Osteopathic technique from our practice, but will try to explain clearly what we are about to do and what we hope to achieve.
